This is a western and a romance with a Christian message, and I enjoyed it very much. I’m not a big romance fan, but this one had very high ratings, and I’m glad I gave it a chance.

The prim and proper headmistress of a school for gifted children in Houston, Texas tries to protect several of her students when the school is unexpectedly closed. The devious grandfather of a little girl sends bounty hunters to find her. One of those bounty hunters gets more than he bargained for when he discovers the group in hiding.

The characters were fun, and even the bad guys had some good lines. Some action moved the story along, including a runaway wagon scene. There were some laughs, too, which were a pleasant surprise to me. The love story seemed a little sudden, but what do I know? Set aside your accuracy meter and just let go.

Excellent narration by Ms. McCulloh, although the little girl’s voice sounded too young, in my opinion. Good pacing and distinctive accents really helped.

No bad language, no sex, not much violence, and a nice love story with children involved.
