The Light Eaters: How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth by Zoë Schlanger
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I am unenlightened about botany, to say the least. But I still enjoyed this book very much, even in audiobook format. It’s not dry and was written for the layman.
Can plants communicate with each other? Do they have some kind of “vision”? Are they intelligent? Although traditional scientists are extremely reluctant to make any definitive statements, lest they become pariahs in their fields, recent research has opened a lot of wormholes about the capabilities of plants. It was fascinating to follow the author’s quest to find the latest data from different specialists all over the world.
The author did a terrific job of narration, too.
