The Blade Itself cover

Review: The Blade Itself

The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been waiting to read this for some time and was not disappointed. The audiobook was wonderfully narrated by Steven Pacey, and his accents really made it easy to tell the different characters apart.

The characters were not all likeable, of course, but they were unique. This first book of the trilogy was a way to introduce the members of the entourage who will continue the series. An excellent fantasy with some dark themes, plenty of violence, foul language, but no sexual content.
