Review: The Pumpkin Bride

The Pumpkin BrideThe Pumpkin Bride by Fiona Buttercup
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A perfect light read for autumn! A cozy romantic fantasy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The description is spot on; the characters are fun, the story is cute, and the themes are familiar but entertaining.

The main characters are separated lovers who are thrown together three years later, when the man is unrecognizable thanks to a deceitful curse. The pumpkin-farming orc and the runaway princess prove that appearances aren’t everything. Will true love prevail?

The audiobook is narrated very well by Will Watt and Moira Quick, whose pacing and inflections are perfect. Contains sexual spice and some foul language. Lots of fall themes: apple cider, cake baking, and pumpkins galore. Publication date is September 1, 2026.
